Cinnamon Ornaments Pt. 2

December 3, 2016

Today I get to let my “inner child” out to play. I am going to decorate my Homemade Cinnamon Ornaments.

Before I start I thought I would show you all the tools I gather and why.

Plain Ornament

Now let me remind you, these ornaments do not have to be decorated at all. You don’t even have to string them. They will make your home smell lovely no matter what you do with them. You can hang them, make garland, use them on or as gift tags and place cards. The possibilities are endless. Plus they will keep for years if placed in a container that is little critter proof. (trust me on that one)

Or you can be like me and do anything and everything to them. I tend to let my “inner child” come out and my imagination go crazy. Sometimes it might not work, but 99.9% of the time it does and 100% of the time it is FUN! And that is the whole point of doing crafts in the first place. At least for me anyway.

Ok let’s get started…

First I am going to clean up my ornaments a bit by using my emery board to take off the jagged edges.jagged edges

Then I grab my Mod Podge, some glitter and a brush…

Let it dry for a few minutes, shake off the extra glitter and check to see if you want another layer. If so, add more Mod Podge, pile on the glitter and wait a few more minutes. Don’t be afraid to use a finger to pack the glitter down into the Mod Podge or to check if it is dry. Put on as many layers as you like to get the outcome YOU want. Remember, the thicker they are the longer it takes to dry. Once they are dry and you like what you see, string it, hang it and smile a lot!

Now it is your turn to play and let your imagination go crazy.

Here are just a few of the ones I have done to give you a little inspiration.

Hope you enjoyed my attempt at passing on some inspiration and a few little tips and tricks that I have learned over the years.

Have a Great Day and See You Soon,

Bonna
