I really needed a place to do my crafts. I tend to spread out all over and the tiny space I had just wasn’t working. So this past few days I have been slowly rearranging furniture and rooms. I moved my cats room into a spare room that had become a catch all. (yes, my cats have their own room) So I had to first clean the catch all room. It was hard to walk thru it. That I started Friday. Sunday we moved the cats into their new room and our bed back into our bedroom. (Don’t even start)
So yesterday I spent all day cleaning, rearranging furniture, and making dresser drawers look awesome. (it will last a month tops) I also ventured out into the coldest garage in the world to find me some wood to build myself some shelves to put over my new craft space. I found some nice pieces of wood flooring my son had given me after his remodeling. Two pieces made the perfect width and length, so I cut some bracers to hold them together. I grabbed enough for two nice shelves.
I sanded down the rough spots and rounded a few of the edges. I LOVE flawed, dinged and scraped wood, so the sanding was to prevent slivers only. I then glued and screwed on the bracers. The shelves are solid.
Then came to mystery game. How to find a stud in a 100 year old lathe and plaster wall. I tried the 16 on center, no stud. I tried the 24 on center, no stud. I tried looking behind the baseboards, more plaster. I wasn’t able to get to the one outlet on that wall. It is behind my hubby’s 1000 pound metal desk. so I started drilling holes every 1/2 in. Stopped after 50 holes. I still have no idea where they are. Anyway, first thing this morning I had Hubby help me hang them. If they fall, they fall.
After Hubby went to work, I decided to clean out the closet and finish off the craft room.
That has been my life for the past two days. A lot of work, but so worth it.
Thanks for coming and see you soon,
